BCX Biocarbon Workshop @Palm Oil Conference (POC)

BCX successfully hosted a Biocarbon Roundtable 1.0 on 4 March 2024 during the 35th Palm & Lauric Oils Price Outlook Conference & Exhibition (POC2024).

This engaging session explored the potential of biocarbon solutions suitable for the palm oil sector, such as biogas and biochar, that can facilitate the development of a vibrant Voluntary Carbon Market (VCM) ecosystem.

Experts like Komathi Mariyappan (ClimatEra Consulting Sdn Bhd), Ir. Yew Hoe Kwok and Nesa Albeper deRozario (Cenergi SEA), Win Sim Tan (Verra), Russ Cullinane (South Pole), Jason Cheng (JTS Optimax), and Yusof Faizal Amin (Tigasfera) shared their valuable knowledge and experience. The discussions covered crucial topics like relevant methodologies, project development processes, real-world implementation insights, and even upcoming biocarbon solutions.

The diverse participants, both local and international, fostered multifaceted discussions. This exchange of ideas provided a clearer picture of the industry's challenges and opportunities, while also exploring the potential role the VCM can play in supporting the sector's sustainable transformation.
